CARB’s Draft Health Co-benefit Assessment Methodology expands quantification of health benefits provided by California Climate Investments projects, including the economic benefits of avoided health incidences.
The updated methodology will quantify additional heart and lung health benefits, including avoided cases of nonfatal heart attack, asthma onset, asthma symptoms, and lung cancer incidences. It will also quantify avoided work loss days and neurological health benefits, including avoided hospitalizations for Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
The public comment period will be open through Thursday, March 7th.
